Forsyth United Methodist Church

Youth Ensemble Summer Tour

Day 3   The hotel may not have been great, but the breakfast at the IHOP made up for it! We had some bad news the day before; Cathy Stevick's brother had passed away late Sunday night and the funeral was scheduled for Wednesday. Five of the members had to head back to Georgia for the funeral. The morning devotional touched on this fact. The title was "Bust a Move" and based on Psalm 38:8 and Phillipians 4:13. Despite the times in our lives when we are feeling down and tired, we can be uplifted with the joy of knowing Jesus Christ. We can "bust" those bad feelings and have so much joy, we want to dance. One of the most uplifting methods in defeating "feeling blue" is the sharing of God's love with the gift of music. For those of you who have not heard the Youth Ensemble sing, you have missed a very powerful testimony.

Psalm 38:8 I am feeble and utterly crushed;
       I groan in anguish of heart.

Phillipians 4:13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Then it was time to load the vans and head to Saint Augustine for the morning. Some of us found every opportunity for a little rest! Next stop, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum...

Then on to Daytona Beach...

Nobody wanted to leave the beach and so the trip to Orlando was a little slow in starting. It was also a little slow in going thanks to some brake difficulties. Arrival at the hotel in Orlando was around midnight and there was little time in between unpacking and hitting the sack!
