Following the worship service on July 6th, eleven of our young people headed to Dahlonega for a week at Camp Glisson. Prior to departing there was a sandwich lunch, music by the youth praise band, and a blessing by preacher Ken.

This summer's theme at camp is "it's all good." The smiles and warm “Welcome to Camp!” as you arrive; the wonder of the starlit sky as you sleep in the meadow; the cool splash of water as you walk in the creek; the embrace of friends as you come to Chapel; the sweet, sticky crunch of a s’more by a blazing fire; the rushing sound of falls – ever present, never stopping; the loving presence of God, surrounding, evident, in God’s people and in creation - It’s All Good! From the first chapter of Genesis through Jesus’ ministry, throughout the biblical story, God consistently declares, “It’s all good.” Now, we’ve all had experiences and situations that were anything but good. The news and world around us offer stories of pain and suffering daily...in large amounts. Even the deepest doubts of our hearts may cause us to question our value. However, there is greater evidence that God affirms us, the people around us, and all of creation – and that we’re called to participate as God’s affirming presence in the world. All are invited to come to camp and discover the good in you, in your neighbor and in God’s creation as we play, worship, explore and grow in this place blessed by God called “Glisson.” Come and discover this holy dirt and why It’s All Good!
