Day 1 - Getting Started

It was a hot & sunny Saturday afternoon when we arrived at the church to start our summer tour. The youth ensemble members were excited as they packed the van, met in the chapel for information and instruction, and received a blessing from preacher Ken. Then it was time to load the bus and head to Madison for dinner at the Subway Sandwich shop. Afterwards, there was a little parking lot soccer and then it was time to head on to Augusta. We arrived at the hotel for unloading and room check-in. Then most continued with the parking lot soccer game and a little time in the pool.

We finished the day sitting out by the pool with an evening devotion from Jody. Initially the discussion was on the 100th Psalm, as we expressed out hopes for the week ahead and gave thanks to a good and loving God. We talked about having a positive attitude, especially as the week progresses and we become tired. We then talked about service being an act of worship as described in Romans 12:1.

Our life is God's gift to us; how we live our lives is our gift to God.
