Day
6 - Overcoming Terror at Busch Gardens
|
| We
began the day with a morning devotional about
figuring out the 'big picture." We have
talked this week about so many big things: Big
Prayer, Big Plans, Big Ideas, and a Big God. We
have to realize that Christianity is so much more
than some big category that we may not be able to
reach. God is small enough to touch and
desperately wants to have a personal relationship
with you in all the areas of your life, not just
the spiritual part. The scripture passage was
from John 2; the first miracle of Jesus. This was
not some grand or big miracle such as feeding
5000 or raising someone from the dead; it was the
turning of water into wine. In this passage,
Jesus shows that he is interested in the social
aspect of people's lives. God wants to work on an
individual level in all of our lives. |

| After
the morning devotion, we loaded up for Busch Gardens. We
broke up into small groups and everyone seemed to have a
great time. There was a little fear at some of the roller
coasters, but enough of other rides and shows to keep
everyone happy. Lunch was at the park with your small
group. Following the park closure, we headed over to
Golden Corral for an evening buffet. We returned to the hotel a tired
and full bunch. We had an evening devotional from Jody
who continued with the theme of overcoming fear. The
passage was from Matthew, where Peter was able to walk on water
by keeping his eyes focused on Jesus. God calls us to do impossible things by faith so
He can receive glory when they are done. We should keep our eyes on Jesus in every aspect of life.
Whenever we do something with God's help we need to remember to give Him the glory for it.
