The United Methodist Church:

1. A church where a warm hearted, personal experience with Jesus Christ is central to its teaching, preaching, and outreach.

2. A world-wide church upon which the sun never sets. The only denomination in the United States that has a local congregation in every community with a population of 10,000 or more.

3. A church that is open to everyone. It has more Native American and Asian American members than any other. It is second in the number of Hispanic American members. It has more African American members than several other denominations combined.

4. A church that owns and operates more colleges, children's homes, homes for the elderly, and hospitals than any other.

5. A church that cares about people who are hurting. It feeds a million children every day. Within a few hours of a natural disaster anywhere in the world, it is there through the United Methodist Committee on Relief to provide aid and love.

6. A church with a Social Creed that has been and still is the marvel and model of much of Christendom.
