"I can do
all things through Christ who strengthens
me." (Phillipians 4:13)
|
Paul's short and simple statement to the church
at Phillipi gives us much encouragement. The
Philippian letter concentrates on peace, joy,
hope, heaven, contentment, endurance, and
righteousness. In this book there is an amazing
amount of positive affirmation for us when we
need strength and encouragement. God enables us,
by his power and grace, to endure and achieve in
both good times and bad.
These young people are in the discovery phase of
their lives. They continue to need strength to
know the difference between right and wrong and
to develop a strength of character as they follow
the examples of Jesus. And they need strength to
remain obedient to the will of God. Fortunately,
there is strength in such abundance, we are able
to do everything God wants us to do.
During this discovery phase, these young people
learn of the empowering holy spirit, begin to
discover and develop their spiritual gifts, and
begin to be more aware of the ministry their
lives can become. |
